Description

Position Summary:

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) is seeking a Manager of NAR Sustainability to oversee the promotion and management of NAR’s sustainability programs. This individual will support the communications, programming, marketing and be responsible for an annual Sustainability Summit. The position requires a high level of interaction with volunteer leaders working closely with our partners and other NAR staff.

As the Manager of Sustainability, you will create and implement various audience focused materials using appropriate surveys, research initiatives balanced with the input of a member advisory group. You will help maintain and grow stakeholder relationships; internal and external to strengthen influence and increase positive impact with companies, organizations, and government groups.

We are looking for someone with a passion for a more sustainable built environment, energy to proactively identify and develop relationships that create new association and member opportunities to engage with sustainability in any real estate market. In support of NAR’s strategic mission to provide leadership strategies on topics of sustainability that benefit members, REALTOR® associations and communities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, promote, and manage NAR's Sustainability Program
  • Oversee planning NAR’s Sustainability Summit Annually
  • Manage, grow, and oversee the Sustainability Grant Program
  • Host an annual Sustainability Summit event with high-profile presenters, members, and industry collaborators.
  • Plan and execute a program agenda and events. Provide opportunities for members to facilitate discussion and consideration of topics in various communities.
  • Work with state/local associations, government agencies, partners, and industry groups on developing and implementing sustainability strategies, partnerships, and benefits.
  • Work with volunteers and peers to determine the voice of NAR's sustainability program and how to inform members of legislative, educational, and technical efforts through collaboration with appropriate staff.
  • Recommend products/services/resources that will benefit NAR members and determine the best method to promote/articulate them.
  • Coordinate the promotion of NAR program resources, research, and industry trends through outreach efforts with cooperating industry organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience writing, developing programming, and relationship building; Demonstrated success working collaboratively with volunteers and/or advisors.
  • Ability to work cross collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience with developing strong presentations; Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competency in preparing, implementing, and overseeing program budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering results with a solution-first approach.
  • An appreciation for a culture of sustainability that promotes viability, resiliency, adaptability, and resource efficiency.
  • Qualified candidates must understand the goals and content of an ESG+R Report.
  • Ability to maintain quality standards and meet deadlines under a heavy workload.
  • Problem-solving and project-management skills; and a high level of interpersonal diplomacy.
  • Ability to travel periodically to industry conferences
