Description

Position Summary:

Drive the strategic development and execution of our education product portfolio as we transform professional learning through innovative technology solutions. This director-level role combines strategic product management with hands-on team leadership, budget responsibility, and delivering a measurable impact for our members while building scalable educational experiences.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Product Management

  • Portfolio Development: Manage comprehensive product strategy and roadmap across the education portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and NAR member professional development needs 
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and member feedback to inform product specifications and innovative use cases
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with marketing, sales, and stakeholder success teams to deliver high-quality educational products that achieve strong member adoption rates
  • Performance Metrics: Define, implement, and track KPIs and success metrics that drive data-informed product decisions and demonstrate clear business value
Business Operations & Growth
  • Budget Management: Oversee budget responsibility for education product initiatives, supporting sustainable revenue growth and operational efficiency
  • Analytics & Testing: Implement analytics frameworks and A/B testing processes to accelerate product iteration cycles and drive measurable growth
  • Strategic Planning: Evaluate and prioritize product initiatives considering member impact, business value, technical feasibility, and resource allocation
  • Growth Strategy: Support revenue generation initiatives and business model optimization for education products
Team Leadership & Development
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing product management team through strategic hiring, training programs, and ongoing mentorship
  • Professional Development: Develop product team members through structured coaching, career pathing, and skill development initiatives
  • Process Excellence: Establish product discovery and delivery methodologies, ensuring thorough validation of product opportunities before investment
Product Excellence & Innovation
  • Continuous Optimization: Build scalable post-launch optimization processes that leverage stakeholder feedback, behavioral data, and performance analytics to drive product enhancement
  • Quality Standards: Implement testing frameworks and user research protocols to ensure products meet high standards of user experience and educational effectiveness
  • Innovation Implementation: Support adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies in adult education and learning technology


Qualifications:

Experience & Expertise

  • Product Leadership: Minimum 7 years of progressive product management experience with expertise in adult education, data analytics, and SaaS-based learning technology (edtech)
  • Team Management: 5+ years of demonstrated success in complex, matrixed environments with proven ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Budget Responsibility: 3+ years of budget management experience with documented growth and efficiency improvements
  • Commercial Experience: 3+ years of for-profit business experience in product management roles with understanding of revenue generation and business model optimization

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Data Analysis: Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and research findings, translating insights into product enhancements and strategic recommendations
  • Technical Understanding: Solid understanding of SaaS architecture, agile development methodologies, software engineering principles, user experience design, and user research best practices
  • Research & Testing: Proven experience in product testing, user research methodologies, and leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to drive product decisions
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent product initiatives with consistent and effective execution

Leadership & Communication

  • Team Development: Strong ability to motivate, coach, and develop product talent with experience building successful teams
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills with confidence in senior-level presentations and stakeholder management
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments, demonstrate intellectual curiosity and growth mindset, and respond constructively to feedback
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel, with experience in analytics and visualization tools

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with AI/ML applications in educational technology
  • Background in professional certification or continuing education markets
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in professional education
  • Experience with market expansion initiatives

Compensation: $150,000 -$180,000
