Education Manager

The REALTORS® Land Institute (RLI), The Voice of Land, is in the middle of an ambitious multi-year plan to update and enhance our Land University (LANDU) Education Program.  We are seeking a motivated association education professional with drive, initiative, and attention to detail to work with us to advance our program to the next level.  RLI, a commercial affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®, is a professional membership organization for REALTORS® who specialize in land real estate.  We have 1,350 members across the country, an annual budget of $1M, and a staff of five. General Description

This role reports directly to RLI’s CEO. The Education Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of RLI’s LANDU Education Program, managing its Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) Designation application process, and managing RLI’s special events, including the annual National Land Conference.

Key Areas of Responsibility Include:

Education

  • Serves as primary staff person responsible for overseeing and maintaining the integrity of the RLI’s LANDU Education Program courses, webinars, and events.
  • Serves as liaison to the Education Committee as well as works with RLI Chapters, LANDU Instructors, third-party course providers, and RLI Members on education related matters.
  • Helps develop and ensures adherence to LANDU Education policies and procedures.
  • Under the direction of the CEO, manages work with outside instructional development consultant to advance the work detailed in the strategic plan relating to the LANDU Education program. 
  • Creates and analyzes detailed quarterly and annual reports to continually assess course enrollment trends to help direct future course development, offerings, and target marketing.
  • Develops, organizes, and coordinates the annual LANDU Education Week event including instructor negotiations, location, logistics, and scheduling.
  • Contributes to LANDU budget development and oversight.

ALC Designation

  • Serves as staff liaison to the ALC Designation Committee.
  • Assists candidates in completing the designation requirements by advising on education and final application.
  • Reviews applications and manages the approval process.

Special Events

  • Serves as staff lead in any special event/project.  Coordinates with any vendors that may be needed.
  • Coordinates with NAR staff on NAR meetings (including Midyear, Annual, and Leadership Summit)
  • Serves as primary staff person overseeing the coordination of the annual National Land Conference.  Assigns tasks to other departments or third parties.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements and skills: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Must have a minimum of three years of education experience in an association environment.  Must understand curriculum development and principles of education in regards to adult learners.
  • Must have experience with webinar technology and with using a Learning Management System (LMS), preferably experience with Crowd Wisdom.
  • Experience in the planning and execution of special events/conferences a plus.
  • Experience working with volunteers and subject matters experts is preferred.
  • Ability to travel 4-5 times per year for on-site support activities during educational conferences, conference planning, and professional development.
  • Demonstrated project management and oversight abilities. Proven ability to simultaneously manage several complex projects required.
  • Must be a team player with consensus-building skills and be able to work well with co-workers, members, and third parties.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide follow-up.
  • Ability to critically think and analyze how our education program fits into the larger organizational strategic plan
