Description

Position Summary:

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist will report directly to the Vice President, Human Resources and will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR support for the Washington, DC office. This includes, but is not limited to basic employee relations, employee onboarding, training and development, benefits administration, and recruitment support. Through HR functional excellence, this individual will provide needed resources to our internal business teams and support NAR’s full employee experience. This position is dedicated to enabling an engaged, competent, and diverse workforce in support of the NAR’s mission and values.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations: be an initial resource for staff and people leaders to respond to staff questions and other areas which impact the employee experience
  • Onboarding: oversee the onboarding process; prepare/update and distribute onboarding materials; conduct orientation for new employees immersing them in NAR; coordinate new employee training
  • Learning & Development: collaborate with HR team to facilitate innovative and effective learning solutions around onboarding, benefits, performance management and other areas which build staff capability
  • Benefits Administration: coordinate enrollment, informational materials and correspondence, and record maintenance; conduct staff presentations
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: coordinate HR initiatives to support a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Recruitment: support administrative aspects for DC staff including coordinate interviews; maintain applicant tracking system. Opportunity also to fill entry-level roles.
  • HR Data: Oversee all new hire documentation in coordination with Chicago office.
  • Other duties, as assigned
 

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a sense of urgency, and results orientation
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
  • Strong professional maturity and judgment; Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; Ability to deliver difficult messages
  • High level of proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite—Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
