Description

Position Summary:

The Leadership Development and Engagement Manager, provides leadership and association management professional development content for REALTOR® association chief staff executives and staff specialists utilizing a multi-channel engagement approach. Reporting to the Director, Engagement and Association Leadership Development, the manager will identify and work with content experts and speakers to ensure REALTOR® association and Multiple Listing Service staff are offered highly engaging content and learning opportunities. The manager will work closely with staff at the local, state, and national level of the association to develop curriculum for the annual Association Executives Institute (AEI) and the “AEI Year-Round” webinar series. These programs support the professional development of association staff leaders and enhance leadership skills and knowledge of REALTOR® association management. The manager will also serve as a staff executive in the association’s committee governance structure, including a role with state association executives, ensuring that committees have the resources they need to meet annual goals and state association executives can engage in meaningful dialogue to address REALTOR® association issues.

The ideal candidate is member-focused, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborates well as part of a team, and has demonstrated a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion, as well as the professionalism of the REALTOR® association executive constituency.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with committee members to identify content and develop the curriculum and framework for AE Institute sessions.
  • Identify topics and presenters for the AEI Year-Round webinar series and handle all aspects of program execution.
  • Develop learning objectives for education programs that are in line with the competencies and body of knowledge that association executives must be proficient in to successfully lead and manage their associations.
  • Conduct needs assessment surveys and utilize course evaluation results to ensure programming meets target audience needs.
  • Educate and prepare speakers to ensure learning objectives are met, that they have an understanding of the REALTOR® association and the AE audience, and they have the resources they need to deliver successful programs.
  • Coordinate logistics for live and virtual programming with other NAR subject matter experts.
  • Provide committee staff executive support by preparing meeting agendas, background materials and resources to ensure committee goals are met; provide appropriate program implementation follow-up.
 

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of association and program management experience
  • Successful track record in governance and committee management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects
  • Results oriented with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to think in innovative ways to develop creative professional and leadership development education programming
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office—Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal and written
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
  • Professional and poised demeanor when interacting with committee leaders and members at all levels of the association
  • Ability to travel to three annual NAR conferences
