This role will be located in our Chicago, IL office.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Analyst to join our finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606, with a particular focus on non-dues revenue streams such as sponsorships, advertising, and service contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical accounting principles and experience interpreting complex contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.
- Apply GAAP principles to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting.
- Track and reconcile non-dues revenue sources, including sponsorships, advertising, and service agreements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports and forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, Operations) to ensure revenue recognition compliance.
- Assist in month-end close activities related to revenue, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries related to revenue recognition.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance revenue tracking and reporting efficiency.
- Maintain documentation of revenue recognition policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting or financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and GAAP.
- Experience with non-dues revenue streams is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $80,000 -$95,000

NAR is on a hybrid schedule and in the office 3 days a week.
