Position Summary:

As part of the Member Experience, Engagement, and Legal Affairs group, the Manager of Economic Development and Commercial Outreach will be part of NAR expanding presence in the commercial real estate space and role as an indispensable business partner to the commercial real estate professionals, trade organizations, and broader industry. Reporting to the Director of Engagement, Commercial Real Estate, you will be responsible for representing REALTOR® interests and strategic goals by collaborating with national and international economic development agencies, organizations, and consultants to broaden NAR’s engagement and presence in the industry.  Successful candidates will work with other NAR teams to create and execute an outreach strategy that identifies additional opportunities to position NAR as an industry leader and partner by increasing the number of speaking engagements, panel participations, and hosted networking events. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze opportunities and create resources for REALTOR® associations to use in order to become proactive with public/private economic development organizations to achieve NAR’s strategic goals of being community and economic development thought leaders
  • Create opportunities to connect corporate brands to State and Local associations.
  • Analyze opportunities and create resources for REALTOR® associations to use in order to become proactive with public/private economic development organizations to achieve NAR’s strategic goals of being community and economic development thought leaders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with organizations such as the ICSC, Site Selectors Guild, International Economic Development Council, Industrial Asset Management Council, and Corenet and others to highlight NAR’s leadership in Economic Development.
  • In partnership with NAR’s Advocacy team, stay up to date on policy issues, legislation and regulation impacting commercial real estate and professionals at the federal, state, and local level.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on issues relating to economic development.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure messaging and collateral is relevant and aligns with organizational goals.
  • Research, create & implement best practices for state and local associations to expand relationships and reach with the EDC community.
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams on economic development address issues that are roadblocks to the growth and help plan tools to address.
  • Other duties, as assigned
 

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of related experience in economic development, corporate site selection, city planning or commercial real estate field
  • Ability to work collaboratively and develop partnerships with government entities, associations, site selectors and developers
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
