About Our Organization

The REALTORS® Land Institute (RLI), The Voice of Land, is seeking a motivated association marketing professional with drive, initiative, and attention to detail to continue moving our marketing efforts forward. RLI, a commercial affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), is a professional membership organization for REALTORS® who specialize in land real estate.  We have over 1,350 members across the country, an annual budget of $1M, and a staff of five.

Job Overview

This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing campaigns to position RLI as The Voice of Land in the real estate industry within the scope of our Strategic Plan. This role assists in driving membership growth through communicating our value proposition and positioning our organization as the go-to place for all matters pertaining to land real estate. This position reports directly to the CEO.


Key Areas of Responsibility

Marketing and Branding

  • Create and implement strategic, integrative marketing plans positioning RLI as The Voice of Land in the industry.
  • Manage the overall brand of the organization and related entities, ensuring compliance with our Visual Standards Guidelines and established “brand voice.”
  • Develop and deploy integrated marketing strategies for all RLI products, events, member benefits, education opportunities, chapter communications, etc.
  • Direct the outsourcing of strategic content generation efforts by overseeing third parties in the creation of digital marketing assets (regular blog posts, podcasts, virtual round table videos, e-books, etc.) and create campaigns to promote those digital marketing assets.
  • Draft, edit, and order all print marketing and promotional materials as needed.
  • Create, manage, and optimize all advertising campaigns both externally and internally, including for RLI’s social media channels.
  • Foster and leverage relationships with industry partners and large brokerages as well as NAR, its commercial affiliate organizations, and its state and local communications directors to extend awareness of our organization.
  • Serve as Editorial Director of the bi-annual Terra Firma Publication by overseeing and guiding the content, schedule, design, and publishing of the publication.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators and metrics for all marketing initiatives.

Communications

  • Manage all communications for the organization, including creating emails and email drip campaigns, social media posts, press releases, digital advertising, print advertising, and article contributions to industry magazines.
  • Manage the RLI Wordpress website with a focus on usability and utilize Google Analytics data to constantly enhance site performance through SEO.

Event Marketing

  • Brand and promote the National Land Conference and other events to increase attendance.
  • Create and manage online registration forms and discount codes for events.
  • Oversee development and implementation of the conference event app.
  • Assist in on-site management as needed.
Other
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Future Leaders and Government Affairs committees.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements and skills

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor Degree required.
  • Must have a minimum 3 years of experience with a non-profit, association, or B2B organization in marketing/communications. Association experience preferred.

Computer/Digital Skills

  • Must have experience using various social media channels in a business setting.
  • Must have strong experience using Wordpress, Google Analytics, and a strong understanding of SEO best practices.
  • Strong experience running Facebook and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software (especially InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Experience with Informz or segmented, drip email campaigns preferred.

Other

  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and provide reliable follow-up.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be a trustworthy team player with consensus-building skills and the ability to work well with coworkers, members, leadership, and third parties.
  • Demonstrated project management and oversight abilities with the proven ability to simultaneously manage several complex projects required.
  • Ability to critically think and analyze how our marketing efforts fit into the larger organizational strategic plan.
  • Ability to travel maximum 4-5 times per year for conferences and professional development.
