Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Advocacy Communications and Strategy, the Advocacy Events Manager provides management and execution of signature advocacy events and advocacy programming at NAR events throughout the year. Guided by long-term and seasonal strategic directives, the Advocacy Events Manager works closely with the Meetings and Events Team, Advocacy Group, and elected association leadership to plan and execute dynamic events and conferences that align with the Advocacy Group's strategic goals and messaging.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned events and conference programming manager with experience working on Capitol Hill, in the legislative branch, or in a trade association. The Advocacy Events Manger will ideally have experience engaging C-Suite level executives and/or government officials throughout the planning process. A confident writer, communicator, and collaborator, the ideal candidate has outstanding organizational and team-management skills and a demonstrated commitment to keeping stakeholder vision at the forefront.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements and manages Advocacy events in coordination with C-Suite level stakeholders, elected leadership, and Advocacy Group leaders.
  • Travels with stakeholders for event planning and execution and offers creative ideas and solutions during programming development.
  • Manages development of each event’s run-of-show, creative assets, and speaker logistics.
  • Works with production and events team to implement events on-site.
  • Assists with event scripting and logistics planning and execution, as needed.
  • Manages segments of the events budget accordingly.
  • Researches and liaises with staff to provide adequate background information on event venue/logistics.
  • Determines on-site staffing needs and oversees temporary staffing as necessary.
  • Other duties, as assigned
 

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of substantive experience in fast-paced operational roles
  • Experience in meeting and event management for C-suite executives or government officials
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Results-oriented with high attention to detail; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to think in innovative and creative ways to find solutions to problems
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, presentation, budgeting, and time management skills
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
