Description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Real Estate Services and Policy Oversight, the Technology Policy Representative will be responsible for providing strategic vision, regulatory and legislative analysis and industry relations related to federal technology policy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop advocacy strategy on technology policy issues working closely with NAR’s volunteer members.
  • Manage regulatory and legislative analysis on federal technology policy proposals such as broadband access, data privacy, cyber security, net neutrality, patent reform, and telemarketing.
  • Convey NAR policy positions and housing industry trends to key real estate industry stakeholders, regulatory agency decision makers, Congressional Committee and Members of Congress and their staffs through in person meetings as well as Congressional letters, testimony and regulatory comment letters.
  • Staff NAR’s Federal Technology Policy Committee, including annual Committee business meetings and other committee work including presidential advisory groups and works groups. 
  • Collaborate with NAR’s communications team on effective strategies to highlight NAR’s policy positions to NAR members, industry trade groups and the public through summits, webinars, videos and social media.
  • Other duties, as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ experience working on federal technology policy issues
  • Masters degree or Juris Doctor degree preferred
  • Familiarity with the real estate industry and membership or trade associations preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Results oriented with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to think in innovative ways to find solutions to problems
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office—Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
