Description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice-President, RPAC and Campaign Services, the Director, Campaign Services is responsible for implementing all elements NAR’s Campaign Services Program (CSP). The CSP is highlighted by an array of advocacy services provided to REALTOR® State/Local Associations aimed at increasing their political impact on their local and state based issue and candidate campaigns. The right candidate will also develop and implement strategies to promote and communicate the activities of the Campaign Services Program to internal and external audiences.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a staff of 5 creating and managing a yearly total of 300-400 state and local independent expenditure candidate campaigns and 50+ issue campaigns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 3 U.S. territories.
  • Coordinate multimillion-dollar campaign budgets and expenditures.
  • Manage external consultants to execute tactics needed to reach legislative, political and advocacy goals.
  • Interact with legal counsel to insure proper campaign finance reporting compliance for independent expenditures and issue campaigns.
  • Educate and collaborate with state and local REALTOR® association staff on the best approaches to produce successful issue and candidate campaigns.
  • Develop strategies to leverage technology and changes in campaigns to grow the CSP
  • Staff NAR’s relevant campaign and independent expenditures committees, including two annual Committee business meetings and other committee work
  • Other duties, as assigned
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 10 years of state and local campaign experience. Experience as a Campaign Manager preferred
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience required
  • Experience working on both issue and candidate campaigns 
  • Knowledge of the state and local legislative process and tactics to effectively motivate elected officials with grassroots and voter outreach
  • Demonstrated understanding of political fundraising and grassroots mobilization
  • Solid interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Ability to travel domestically, up to 25%-40%
