Position Summary:
As part of the Advocacy Group, the PAC Director oversees overall fundraising and disbursement strategy for NAR’s REALTOR Political Action Committee (RPAC) and its associated programs. This position supervises a team of PAC professionals and is responsible for ensuring fundraising goals are met and disbursement objectives are achieved. An integral part of the Advocacy Team, the RPAC Director interfaces with state and local REALTOR associations, NAR membership and RPAC Trustees regularly and at the highest levels. The RPAC Director reports directly to the NAR Vice President for Political Advocacy. Successful candidates will be highly organized and self-motivated and have; a) a proven track record making strategic decisions in the political arena; b) a firm understanding of campaign finance laws; and c) experience supervising high performing teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the NAR Vice President of Political Advocacy, develop RPAC fundraising and disbursement strategy.
- Manage both the RPAC fundraising and disbursement teams.
- Ensure RPAC remains a leader in the trade association PAC space by proactively employing modern fundraising and disbursement tactics.
- Achieve annual and election-cycle RPAC disbursement goals including working with RPAC Trustees to deploy RPAC assets effectively and efficiently in a non-partisan, pro-REALTOR manner.
- Achieve annual and election-cycle RPAC fundraising goals including working with RPAC Trustees to assist state and local REALTOR associations in meeting overall, participation and major investor benchmarks.
- Represent NAR/RPAC at PAC fundraising and fulfillment events.
- Communicate RPAC decision making to key NAR members, groups and outside stakeholders.
- Work closely with NAR Government Advocacy and Policy Advocacy Teams to ensure RPAC strategy is representative of NAR Advocacy mission.
- Oversee and responsible for significant budgets.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of work experience with 4 years of experience related to PAC and political strategy and/or experience for a member-based trade association
- Results oriented with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
- Ability to think in innovative ways to find solutions to problems
- Adept at maintaining a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations
- Exceptional communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation
- Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point
- Ability to travel up to 30%
