Position Summary:

Member Experience Mission: Empower and engage the REALTOR® community by delivering trusted knowledge, resources, and experiences that elevate member success and professionalism.

The Director of MLS Engagement fulfills the Member Experience mission by providing support to NAR members, multiple listing services (MLSs), and the MLS industry. Candidates should have experience working for or with an MLS and strong knowledge of the operational, administrative, and governance issues related to MLS functions. Understanding of the technical aspects of MLS operations and technology trends is also important. The ideal candidate for this position is also personable and enthusiastic with a team-oriented attitude. This position will report to NAR’s Senior Vice President of Member Experience.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the strategic creation of educational and operational resources supporting MLSs.
  • Engage with MLSs and REALTOR® associations, the Council of Multiple Listing Services, Real Estate Standards Organization, and other appropriate MLS related entities.
  • Attend relevant MLS industry meetings and cultivating relationships with the organizations’ leadership and executives.
  • Implement projects arising from NAR’s MLS committee, NAR’s Executive Advisory Board, and NAR’s collaboration with CMLS.
  • Research, identify, analyze, and keep current on developments, trends and events affecting MLS operations including key emerging issues and trends in industry related organizations. Educate NAR teams on those developments.
  • Make presentations and help prepare other informational material as necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of working for or with an MLS and existing, positive relationships in the MLS industry
  • Knowledge of organized real estate and rules for REALTOR® associations and MLSs
  • Capability to understand MLSs of all sizes; their benefits, services, advantages and challenges
  • Demonstrated thought leadership skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office—Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
