Description

Position Summary:

NAR’s Advocacy Group is looking for a Disbursement Representative to manage PAC funds requests of over $5 million in election contributions from REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). RPAC funds are raised to support congressional leaders who are vital to NAR’s strategic objective. This candidate will be responsible for managing PAC contributions operations including being point of contact for PAC Trustee disbursement related matters and inquires, forming relationships with major donors and help direct their contributions, plan and execute congressional fundraising events, and create and implement fundraising strategy for NAR’s President’s Circle Program, which raises over $2.5 million annually for REALTORS® Champions and PAC funds. The ideal candidate must be tech-savvy with keen attention to details and possess superior organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of NAR’s PAC contributions;
  • Make sound decisions and adhere to PAC disbursement rules when processing check requests for a federal candidate or committee. Follow up with requestors about status of check requests
  • Utilize PAC management system to process and track check request
  • Foster relationships with major investors and advise them on where their funds should be allocated
  • Create and implement talking points that inform members of each congressional candidates’ legislation and policy position
  • Manage logistics for congressional fundraising events including working with SVP of Government Affairs and each political party’s consulting firm to develop and finalize a list of prospective industry supporters, recommend financial goals for each event, catering, reserving event room, and coordinate with finance and legal team to file reports with the Federal Election Commission
  • Develop fundraising and communications strategy to encourage members to join NAR’s President’s Circle Program. Determine the best media vehicles to promote the programs and communications to NAR’s biggest investors
  • Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of work experience; experience in the political arena is a plus
  • Adept at maintaining a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations
  • Results oriented with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to think in innovative ways to find solutions to problems
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office—Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
